An Update from the Lochan Beag Beaver Pair

Elaine and Christian have been extremely active over this mild winter that we have been having. It now looks like Lochan Beag will be their new home for the foreseeable future having moved a short distance from the Creag Mhor Loch. They are still using Creag Mhor occasionally as fresh feeding stations can still be seen around the shore.

On Lochan Beag, they appear to have their feet securely on the property ladder, having constructed another lodge on the bank opposite from the existing lodge. This lodge has been constructed within a dense patch of rhododendron and is very well hidden.

This pair have also been busy creating new wetland habitats on the route between Lochan Beag and Creag Mhor. Elaine and Christian have been regularly caught on our camera traps and both appear to be in a good body condition.
